Opus is New Zealand's largest infrastructure consultancy and a leading consultancy on the world stage with offices throughout Australia, Canada, the  United Kingdom and USA. Currently there are twelve Opus Laboratories throughout New Zealand and we assist clients with more than just materials testing, often providing invaluable advice and support through a highly experienced network of staff and wealth of information that has been collected for over 50 years. We have established close working relationships with local bodies and contractors, built on the trust and expectation that the investigations carried out are going to be undertaken with the care and precision required to produce reliable results. Through our network we can provide timely routine and specialised mechanical testing services on large-scale projects and investigation work. Many Opus laboratories also provide research and development services to clients in order to maintain and continually improve the quality and cost benefits of product and processes. All the Opus laboratories throughout the country are accredited by IANZ (International Accreditation of New Zealand) and are staffed by groups consisting of skilled specialists, technicians and cadets that have the relevant training and experience to service projects both large and small.

Project experience

Our team can assist you to meet specification by providing independent consultation services and IANZ (International Accreditation of New Zealand) accredited reports to certify your quality testing. Our laboratories hold the widest range of test accreditation in New Zealand having been IANZ certified since February 1975 for the following classes of test:
