The Opus team prepared an environmental assessment report for the proposed site of this new 450 bed tertiary hospital. The report addressed the following issues:  soil erosion, acid sulphate soils, groundwater, surface water quantity and quality, flora and fauna, wetland ecology, noise, dust, air, social impact, Native Title and cultural heritage.  Issues were assessed against relevant legislation, policies and standards, and the report included a detailed discussion on the likelihood of a referral being required under the Commonwealth’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
