Opus is providing project management, archaeological investigation and analysis, architectural design, structural, civil and environmental engineering, landscape design and the resource management services for the redevelopment of the new Timaru Courthouse in New Zealand.

The redevelopment will address the operational shortcoming of the heritage listed building and the future needs for the court. The design will create more open spacious areas with natural lighting and external outlooks in an endeavour to create a less intimidating interior.

The design will provide for a more clearly defined flow through the building to assist with the operational activities of the court, while the use of local materials from around the region, such as Oamaru stone and Timaru Bluestone, will provide for a harmonious integration with the existing building.
