Key Area: Transportation
Services: GIS,Traffic Modelling
This large study was commissioned to define an integrated transport solution between Auckland City and Manukau City via their Eastern suburbs. Identified as containing several key areas of growth, the project was designed to assess and recommend solutions for the current and future issues surrounding the transport network. Alignment options for proposed transport corridors were examined to reach conclusions about the most appropriate way forward.
GIS played a substantial part in the project on a number of levels. As a data hub to allow a clear point of control over the use and access to data by all involved, analysing different options and cross matching of data to assess each of the proposals. Predictive modelling to align different options with proposed areas of growth thereby enabling for the planning of access to multiple modes of transport by as many people as possible was also completed.
