Brisbane Square is the latest landmark high rise tower for Brisbane, rising 40 levels above the Brisbane River at North Quay. The commercial building’s sought after location, on an entire city block between Queen Street Mall and the Brisbane River, combined with its design; make it the latest social and cultural hub of the city. Striking architectural design, facilitated by Opus' unique structural engineering solutions, makes the building prominent from both ground and skyline views.

The $198 million project comprises of 81,000 square metres of gross floor area and 50,000 square metres of net lettable floor area. The lower six levels are made up of low rise commercial and retail space and a basement of 350 car parks. The ground level exhibits a public themed plaza of art and landscaping - linking the Queen Street Mall to the Brisbane City Council, shops, restaurants and meeting areas of the development.

Due to the complex design and client requirements of this prominent building, Opus delivered structural engineering solutions, innovative and unique to building structures in Australia. Some key elements include the use of significant cantilevers, 110m feature columns, a “lambda” brace and an extremely efficient floor scheme.
