Gallipoli Army Barracks, Enogerra
We provided the structural, civil and hydraulic engineering to the multimillion dollar refurbishment and new building works at the TUAV Facilities at Gallipoli Army Barracks in Enoggera. This project involved the design and construction of new buildings, refurbishment works and extensions to existing buildings. The scope of works included the headquarters, administration building, working accommodation facilities, Q-Stores, vehicle workshops and new aerial vehicle workshops for the tactical unmanned aerial surveillance aircraft.
This project involved the design and construction of new steel framed facility for the maintenance of new light armored vehicles incorporating eight service bays with service pits and office plus storage facilities.
Gallipoli Barracks Road Upgrades
The road network within the Gallipoli Barracks was reviewed to check the physical and structural capacity of the existing roads in preparation of the deployment of new Bushmaster armored troop carriers. The project included site investigations and testing of existing pavement structure and geometry, preparation of report and cost plans and detailed design and documentation. A method of analysis of the existing road pavement was developed that allowed the roads to be redesigned to carry the increased future traffic.
Heavy Weapons Test Fire Facility Refurbishment
We were engaged to undertake detailed design and documentation of the structural refurbishment of the live firing test pit for armoured personnel vehicles that had previously become damaged during use.
A memorial was established at the Gallipoli Barracks to commemorate the soldiers that had died in non-conflict situations. Numerous meetings were held with stakeholders to confirm a design and a study was undertaken to establish the best location for the memorial and review similar memorials.

Royal Australian Air Force Base, Amberley
Rifle Flight Redevelopment
The existing rifle flight facilities at Amberley were to be redeveloped to increase the number of rifle flights based at the facility. We provided the civil, structural and hydraulic services for the project. The project involved the reuse and refurbishment of existing buildings and facilities as well as the development of new buildings, roads and parking facilities.
MRTT Simulator Training Facility, RAAF Base, Amberley
We were the hydraulic services engineer for the design of this training facility responsible for the design, documentation, and construction inspections for the new simulator building at Amberley RAAF Base. The training facility building consists of the simulator with allowance for future simulators to be added, training rooms, offices, kitchens, and amenities for up to 30 students and 20 staff.
Kokoda Barracks, Canungra
Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) Roads upgrade
The road network within the SWBTA facility is extensive and receives heavy use. The existing gravel road network required significant repairs and upgrades to maintain the services levels for the area. The area experiences significant weather events and the roads and associated drainage systems need to be able to withstand these events. Designs were developed and documented and support was provided to the contractors through regular site visits. A number of solutions developed for the Canungra projects were adapted to this project.
Darwin Defence/Civilian Air Traffic Control Tower
We were engaged to provide structural design for a new Defence and civilian air traffic control tower in Darwin. The project involved close interaction with the architect and project managers working to tight time frames. The design took into consideration cyclonic activity in the region to ensure full structural rigidity to suit the local weather patterns.
