Community Service Award
2008
Victoria Fray, Team Leader, Environmental Engineering from Auckland, New Zealand
Victoria Fray has shown a very strong commitment to humanitarian work and, in particular, the work she has done for The Red Cross providing assistance to survivors of natural disasters in the Pacific. She is a role model for others to follow. The respect with which Victoria is held in the community is perhaps best reflected in the admiration of Victoria by those around her.
Victoria’s involvement in the Engineers Without Borders’ Vanuatu Water Aid Project is a great example. The influence she has had on the young team of engineers she led to Vanuatu to provide a safe drinking water supply to a small
community is a display of exemplary leadership on this very important community work.
