Opus expands with British consultancy [Otago Daily Times] - New Zealand-based infrastructure consultancy Opus has extended its position in Britain by acquiring British-based engineering consultancy, Joynes Pike Group Ltd.  The purchase will add 170 staff and nine offices to the group, which has more than 2400 staff in total.  Click here to read more.

Opus Reports Strong Half-Year Result  - Infrastructure provider, Opus International Consultants has released its financial results for the six months ending 30 June 2008.  Commenting on the results, Opus Chairman, Basil Logan said that they show Opus is continuing to grow strongly and that its expertise in infrastructure management and development has generally positioned it well in its countries of operation. Further Expansion in Canada for Opus - Opus announced today that it has acquired Project Engineering Ltd, an engineering consultancy in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on the eastern seaboard of Canada. This will increase Opus’ presence in eastern Canada (Atlantic coastal region) with the addition of 13 staff to bring the total number operating out of Opus’ six offices in North America to 74.  Click here to read more.

Highlights of Chairman's Address to shareholders - At the inaugural Annual Meeting, Opus' Chairman, Basil Logan, said the Board was pleased with the year end results for 2007 and that he is confident that the company is on track to achieve its forecasted results for 2008.  Click here to read more.

Opus chairman to step down in August - Opus' chairman, Basil Logan, announced today he would be stepping down as chairman and director on the 31 August 2008.  It is intended Mr Logan be succeeded as Chairman by Kerry McDonald, who was elected Deputy Chairman in August 2007.  Click here to read more.

New Heating Boiler for Waiouru Military Camp Meets Emission Standards - The NZ Defence Force (NZDF) commissioned, 8MW, $3.8 million new heating boiler for the Army’s Waiouru Training Camp, was formally handed over at a function at the Camp today.  This was the first stage of upgrading the heating system at the Waiouru Camp.  Click here for more details.
