Opus was the structural engineering consulting firm for the Mirvac School of Sustainability building at Bond University, which has been credited with a Green Star rating of six stars for design, based on the Educational Pilot Tool of the Green Building Council of Australia. The design, construction and operation of the new building embraced the world’s best practice sustainable processes and objectives. The building is 1530sq m, has a concrete frame and utilizes recycled materials as much as possible. The building is to house unique teaching and research programs that focus on environmentally sustainable planning and design.
